For seasonal work, idle time alone does not determine whether equipment is a sound investment. Record when product moves, on which routes, with what load profile, and whether the equipment can serve another use off-season.

Review peak-period orders by day and time; determine required quantity from actual round, loading and cleaning records. Obtain current purchase, seasonal-rental and existing-equipment quotes on the same scope, including maintenance, storage, financing and return terms.

State assumptions about season length, demand and reuse in a sensitivity check; do not add unverified spoilage or savings. Track utilisation and idle/storage conditions through the season. Update the next-season decision from actual records.
