A refrigeration unit setting should align with load and equipment instructions. Leaving authority informal makes it harder to find later why and when a change was made.
Authority and approval
Define in the procedure who may request a setting change, who approves it and in what circumstances. Refer to the target range in product instructions.
Change record. Add vehicle ID, date and time, previous and new setting, person, reason, load and related alarm to the form.
Driver steps for incidents
Document who to call, where to hold the load and which records to take after a unit fault, alarm or door problem. Do not request action contrary to the unit manual.
Review changes. Compare the log with product readings and alarm history. Repeated changes are a prompt to review the procedure, loading or equipment.
Keep the authority list accessible to drivers and retain the prior setting and action record.
