UC Davis's California table-grape fact sheet lists firmness, cracked berries, stem browning, shriveling and decay among quality checks. Verify local acceptance criteria with buyer and variety.
Record the starting condition
Link variety, harvest and packing times, packaging type and pre-dispatch sample condition to the lot code.
Observe cooling and airflow
Record store or vehicle conditions. UC Davis notes rough handling can increase shatter; record pack depth and density, then trial gentler handling.
Use the same sampling at delivery
Compare berry and stem appearance, package bruising or moisture with buyer specification criteria. Link photos to lot and time.
Choose fixes from evidence
If damage or quality differences appear, review sampling, airflow and dwell records together; measure the change on the next shipment.
