Doorstep, receiving-area and in-store delivery require different access and records. The store and carrier should define who controls product and container at each point.
Confirm the handoff point in advance. Before a visit, verify store rules for driver access, receiving hours, route to the cold room and equipment dimensions. Note unsuitable access points in the delivery plan.
Record the transfer moment
Keep shipment code, time, product or lot, container ID, any measurement file and recipient acknowledgement on one form. Note who retains the closed container too.
Separate delivery model from liability
If the driver stops at a defined point, state in the procedure who performs the following internal move and product acceptance. Resolve differences between contract and store rules before dispatch.
