Compare delivery plans by when each stage can start, not only by one total number of days.
Ask the quote to separate technical information and drawing approval, stock or production status, packing and ready-to-dispatch date. Then list transport booking, export/import paperwork and final-delivery assumptions.
For every line, record the responsible party, required input, planned finish and whether the date is firm or estimated. Do not present customs or carrier time as though the seller controls it.
Clarify in writing which condition, such as technical approval or payment, starts the schedule. If a date moves, update the affected stage and the person who will communicate the revised estimate.
Useful planning points are the milestones between order and usable arrival. Add site installation and acceptance time separately after delivery.
