Compare three options
Assess rental refrigeration, transfer to a suitable vehicle or insulated equipment against the same load and route. Delaying delivery is another option to confirm with the customer.
Record service information
Log the fault and work-order IDs, estimated part availability, service updates and actual downtime start and finish. Do not treat the first estimate as certain.
Verify load conditions
For each option, check capacity, route time, temperature-monitoring method and product instructions. Send readings and product assessment to the responsible quality lead.
Compare total costs
Record rental, extra trips, driver and labour, waiting and transfer costs for each option. Do not choose the apparently cheaper option before product suitability is verified.
Update the plan after service
