Rain can affect both product packaging and the delivery path. Damage and safe access depend on site conditions as well as the box or container used.

On a trial route, record rainfall, surface, curb slope, vehicle-to-door distance and handling time. Photograph wet packaging and affected loads.

Check wet-strength data for the carton and lid, drainage and cleaning features for the container in their own product documents. Do not generalize across material types.

Assess slip, tip and pooling risks for wheeled or hand-carried loads under local safety procedures. Select the drop-off point and equipment accordingly.

If a container or package is wet, follow maker instructions and site procedure for drying, cleaning and stacking. Make a slippery area safe.

Compare delivery arrangements under similar rain and load conditions. Record damage, repacking and labor time separately, then use your own data for purchasing decisions.
