Find the heat-gain path in the measurements, then compare container design and plate load in a controlled trial.
Inspect body and lid joints, seals, voids and plate condition; use route records to locate where deviation occurs. Change one variable at a time and trial insulation repair or a different plate layout with the same load and route. Compare product results and usable load volume; document both trials before choosing.
Adding plates will not automatically fix weak insulation or a leaking lid; it can also reduce usable load space.
