The effect of thicker insulation cannot be determined from wall heat transfer alone. The complete container and its use must be assessed.
Along with wall material and thickness, the lid, gasket, joints, corners and interior design can affect heat exchange. Lid openings and load belong in the test conditions too.
When comparing two models, use the same product or representative load, starting state, cooling-source arrangement, ambient conditions and route. Keep sensor positions fixed.
Record temperatures from start to finish and the times of lid openings. If external dimensions are fixed, measure and record usable internal volume as well.
Compare repeat trials under the same conditions. Do not infer general hold time from one route or material-sample data.
Before purchase, ask your supplier for the assembled model's test method, load conditions and results; validate on your route if your use differs.
