Separate visits for fresh and frozen goods do not by themselves prove that deliveries can be combined. First identify product requirements and why the dispatches are split.

Count the opportunity

Review a week's plan and mark store, date, product group, stops and vehicle capacity. Record whether separation is due to temperature requirements, order readiness or recipient acceptance times.

If transport conditions differ, use a suitable partition or separately validated containers and secure each load. Sharing a vehicle does not mean products can share a space or that their conditions will be maintained. Confirm product information and recipient instructions with the responsible person.

On a trial route, place a logger in each zone; record loading, delivery and waiting times. Compare results with product-specific limits and the transport configuration approved by the product owner.

Include empty-container return, cleaning and reset in the plan. Combining a delivery may create a space or washing bottleneck on the return leg.

After a week, compare visits, elapsed time, record excursions and labour for separate and mixed runs. Combine only visits whose product arrangement has been validated.
