A rack physically fitting a freezer does not by itself establish that it can be used in a blast freezer. Verify compatibility and operating conditions in both products' documentation.

Rack, plate and container belong to one programme; the GEBHARDT range supplies all three in sizes that fit together.

Confirm model compatibility

Check rack and freezer model codes, internal dimensions, shelf spacing, door and airflow openings. Do not assume approved use without manufacturer confirmation.

For example, GEBHARDT lists rack 7027745 for 72 plates sized 480×280 mm, with dimensions 860×600×1625 mm; model 6051186 for 144 plates is 1165×985×1600 mm. These data alone do not confirm blast-freezer compatibility.

Define the loading arrangement

Show plate orientation, spacing and access on the rack according to instructions. Avoid layouts that obstruct airflow.

Monitor the cycle in an approved trial. If an authorised trial procedure exists, record start, intermediate and end readings with the actual plate load. Do not equate freezer-air temperature with plate-core temperature.

Use results only for the same setup

Capacity and cycle duration depend on rack, plate, load and equipment. Obtain fresh approval and measurements for another model or plate.
