For frozen food the yardstick is Article 5 of the Quick-Frozen Foods Communiqué (2014/47): the product is at -18 °C or colder at every point, and a possible short rise during transport and distribution does not exceed 3 °C. On a multi-drop route the lid opens at every stop, warm air enters and, as the load shrinks, the position of product and coolant changes.

The box is therefore chosen for the final stop, not the first: the logger goes in the box delivered last and opened most. Giving each stop its own box or compartment keeps the next customer's load closed while the earlier ones are served.

On the castor base of the GEBHARDT Isotec TBX the goods travel from the vehicle to the point of sale without the container being unloaded.
