Plates may look alike while containing different PCM and serving different uses; match model code to product requirements.

Verify plate identity

Check model or product code, phase-change data in the manufacturer sheet and conditioning instructions.

For example, GEBHARDT plate 1006919 has a -3 °C phase point; 0074699 has -21 °C. Neither is a product-temperature reading.

Colour, frost or touch alone does not confirm plate class.

Separate physically and in records. Store different plate types on separately marked racks. Link codes to freezer location, container model and product loading list.

Quarantine a plate with a damaged label; do not dispatch it before identity is confirmed.

Test load compatibility

Use the approved arrangement for product and container. Compare placement, sensor points and product temperature records in a representative load.

Reverify fit when product or plate model changes.

Show the separation system to each shift and verify it in routine checks.
