A short rider route does not remove waiting during picking and packing. To locate the delay, read order timestamps by product group and demand period.

Break down order waiting time

Record when a chilled item leaves refrigeration, packing ends and the order is handed to a rider under the same order ID. Show picking queue, rider wait and travel time separately.

Compare busy and quiet periods. If chilled items spend too long in packing, test picking dry goods first and chilled items last. Keep them separate from hot meals during transport.

For batched orders, relate each item to its time in the box; do not set a rule only to increase order count. Validate any divider, insulation or cold source against product instructions and the actual load and route.

Tag complaints by product, preparation stage, rider wait and route. If a pattern repeats, change picking sequence, packing point or rider call time and track the result in the same records.
