Do not assess used equipment by appearance or a seller's estimate of remaining life. Record model, serial number, production information and current configuration.
Inspect body cracks, panel separation, repair marks, lid alignment, gasket, latch, castors, brakes and internal fittings against maker maintenance criteria.
Request previous use, cleaning method, storage, service and part-change records. State missing history explicitly in risk and price assessment.
If insulation performance needs testing, define instrument and sample conditions in writing. Compare measurements on the same model and similar load under matched starting and ambient conditions.
Include sensor location, instrument verification, lid openings and duration in the report. One test does not establish remaining life or performance on every route.
Assess parts availability, repair cost and use fit using actual quotes and technical documents. File the accept or reject rationale with the inspection report.
