A time-temperature total can help compare route events against a defined reference. It does not alone determine product damage or release.
Make the calculation reproducible
State the reference, units, sensor position, sampling interval and treatment of data gaps. For each interval, multiply only the difference above the defined reference by elapsed time and report the sum as a process trend.
Compare routes only when device placement, product load, sampling frequency and calculation method match. Retain the raw temperature-time trace, maximum/minimum reading and event notes alongside the summary.
Take reference and acceptance criteria from product specification, manufacturer evidence and buyer/site procedures. For an excursion, segregate the lot; an authorised quality lead decides disposition, not the degree-minute total alone.
