Lowering the temperature again does not change the product's earlier exposure history. Re-chilling does not mean the product is acceptable or that its shelf life is unchanged.

Document the event and lot

Separate the product from other stock. Record lot, packaging, dispatch and receipt times; sensor location, device ID, logger profile and known waiting duration. Do not fill missing measurements with estimates.

Review the manufacturer or product owner's instructions and the buyer's acceptance terms for that product. Refer the assessment to the authorized quality lead or authority named in the applicable procedure; do not assume the same rule for food, medicines and specimens.

Re-chill only after a decision

If the responsible party permits re-chilling, record its start time, location and follow-up readings under the procedure. Retain the rationale for use, re-shipment or disposal. If permission is not given, do not return the product to use; complete the event record and corrective actions.
