Surface and vibration conditions vary across rural routes; do not assume every delivery presents the same damage or equipment risk. Loading and handoff records help investigate where an event occurred.
Check loading against procedure. Before dispatch, inspect packaging condition, stack arrangement, container lid and catch, and vehicle restraint points. Select separation, stacking and restraint methods according to product packaging, vehicle and container instructions.
Photograph the container and load at dispatch; link vehicle plate, container ID, lot, driver and route record. If there is a rough section, sudden stop, reloading or delay, add its location and time to the form.
Compare damage at handoff. With the recipient, check packaging, product and container condition at delivery and photograph any difference. Match damage to route segment, loading arrangement and equipment inspection; do not infer driver or container fault from one event. Assign a corrective action and verify it by observation on a later trip.
