Include the gap between ambient conditions and the cargo's target range in winter dispatch planning. Heating may not be available on every model or configuration; do not assume the feature from the vehicle panel alone.

Pre-dispatch checks

Verify the heating function in the operating manual for the exact model and equipment. Get the product's applicable temperature range and any preconditioning step from the shipment instruction. Set the low alarm threshold to match that requirement; one limit does not suit every product.

Check the sensor position and logger operation. An air reading inside the body is not the same as the product's core temperature; record the initial and final measurement points, time and device ID on the form.

If a low alarm or out-of-range reading occurs en route, document the event and follow the company's cargo assessment procedure. Review the product and records together at delivery; do not infer damage or compliance from one air reading.
