Do not assess a small order's economics from product value alone. Keep its date, delivery point, preparation work, and added time on the current route in the same record.
When calculating order contribution, separate product and direct preparation costs from variable delivery costs. Show allocated fixed costs separately; otherwise a dedicated trip cannot be compared with an existing route stop.
Compare a suitable delivery slot on a nearby route day with a separate trip using actual route records. State the source and period for added stop time, distance, waiting, and vehicle capacity use.
Review more than one period to see which orders fit existing rounds. Update acceptance rules from operating costs, customer requirements, and measured service capacity rather than guesses.
