When requesting emissions data in a carrier tender, first ask which activities and boundary the calculation covers. Clarify vehicle fuel/energy, shipment period, loaded and empty legs, and whether refrigeration energy is included.

Ask whether data is measured or derived from default factors, and request the source and version. Obtain a written description of how shipment emissions are allocated to the load, such as by mass, volume or another method, and which activity data supports it.

For tender comparison, use the same route, period, service, system boundary and allocation rule. If raw activity records or factors are unavailable, note data quality; do not rank totals calculated with different methods as carrier performance.
