Two plates bought on the same day may be frozen at different frequencies. Calendar age does not show that use difference; record local cycles.
Set up the count
For individual tracking, record plate ID, each freezing entry and date. A simple tally works; apply its definition consistently.
Group count
Without individual tracking, record the defined group's plate count and freezing entries during the period. Divide total entries by group size for an average per plate; it does not show an individual history.
Example calculation
For example, 30 entries for a group of 10 plates in a month gives an average of 3 entries per plate. Without the distribution, it does not mean every plate was frozen three times.
Do not infer lifetime or limits. The record counts use at your site; it gives no universal durability, remaining life or permitted cycle limit. Follow the exact product manual for model limits.
How to use the count
- Planning: compare past entry frequency and workload by period.
- Damage review: align the cycle and incident periods for the same group when calculating a rate.
- Capacity: read entries alongside cabinet and shift records.
A local cycle count records use; it does not predict product life.
Record ownership
Define the step and person responsible for logging an entry. Preserve the original value, change date and evidence when correcting a record.
Monthly report
Report group or plate ID, period entry total and scope. Keep individual and group counts separate; note plates added at the start of a new period.
