A punctured plate, or one suspected of leaking, comes out of service at once; it is not repaired with tape, glue or the like and put back in the freezing pool. The filling of GEBHARDT plates is a non-toxic solution of salt and water, but a harmless filling does not mean that a product touched by a leak is automatically accepted.

What to record

Write down the plate and product lot IDs, the location of the container or rack, the time of first observation and the fluid or damage seen, and take a photo. Describe separately the load with direct product contact, the load where only the outer packaging got wet and the load where contact stays uncertain; do not record an uncertain one as "no contact".

The quality owner decides whether the product is used, from the measurement and the contact record. Look for the cause of the puncture: pinching, a sharp edge, a fall and where the plate was kept in the depot. A new plate put in before the cause is found can be damaged again in the same place. For a replacement, give Aris Makina the model and size (390 x 295, 480 x 280 or 615 x 378 mm).
