There is no universal number for “how many times does it freeze?” Combine model instructions, use and damage history under the same plate ID to assess service life.
Get the maker's criteria
Confirm permitted use, maintenance, inspection and replacement conditions with the supplier or maker for the exact article.
Track plate history
Keep ID, commissioning, cycle or use records, cleaning and damage notes. Do not apply a generic service-life estimate or fixed cycle count.
Inspect for damage. On each return, check for cracks, deformation, leak signs and holder damage under the procedure. Mark and isolate a suspect unit.
Verify performance change. If maker instructions permit, record performance with a fixed load and measurement setup. Compare with a new or verified reference plate of the same model.
Document the replacement decision
Add damage, measurement and maker feedback to the maintenance file. The authorized owner decides repair or withdrawal from service.
