Arrange the plate preparation area around actual shift flow, not guessed walking distance.
Map the work steps
Show plate receipt, code check, freezer entry, readiness acceptance, movement, loading and return points on a sketch.
Assign an owner, required record and movement equipment to each step.
Measure time and quantity in shift
Record freezer travel, waiting, counting and loading time during a normal shift.
Count accepted ready, in-cycle and reserved plates separately; do not count the same set for two dispatches.
Keep the area safe and accessible
Review layout under the site risk assessment and appliance instructions, including access/egress, floor, transport equipment and manual handling.
Define a segregation and check point for plates returned from trips.
Show the final plan to each shift; review it when dispatch times, duties or appliances change.
