For a year-end complaint review, do not leave records as free text alone. Keep common fields for date, customer, product or lot, route or stop, event type, contact channel, and review outcome.
Link follow-up messages about one incident to the same event ID rather than counting each as a new complaint. Do not merge similar-looking cases from different products, lots, or deliveries.
When comparing a product or route trend, divide event count by completed shipments in the same scope and period. Note changes in customers, recording method, or data coverage; do not compare raw counts against a changed denominator.
Verify an order, shipment, or lot ID before matching a complaint to temperature, damage, or return records. Without a linked record, flag the relationship as a hypothesis to investigate, not a proven cause.
