The expected use period for a container may differ from a customer or rental contract term. First clarify who owns the asset and what happens at expiry.
Put start and end dates, payments, maintenance, damage, loss, renewal, extension and return clauses in one table. Link obligations to the container group or serial number.
Match use, cleaning, fault and repair history to the contract period. Do not infer remaining service life from assumptions beyond manufacturer instructions.
Request written terms for extension, purchase, reassignment or return at expiry. Include excluded work such as transport, repair or removal separately.
Decide from total payments, expected use and written exit options over the same period. State and get approval for any life or savings assumption in the offer notes.
