In Turkish the words termo kutu, termobox, termokap and insulated container mostly describe the same product family, but the products sold under those names differ greatly and the name does not show it. Thermo box is a category name, not a product description.

Thin-walled single-use foam boxes and rigid bodies that take professional kitchen trays are both sold under it, which is where the price gap and the difference in purpose come from. Thermobox also appears as a model name: GEBHARDT's Thermobox is an EPP (expanded polypropylene) box that works from -30 to +80 °C, goes through a dishwasher and holds 46 litres. Adding a eutectic plate shelf extends the transport time.

When comparing, look at tray fit rather than litres: a container that does not sit right with your kitchen trays carries dead volume on every trip, however well insulated. For a container washed daily, the wash temperature sets its life; a body that cannot take it loses shape and the lid stops seating.

When asking for quotes, write the job, not the name: how many of which tray, for how many hours, in what temperature range, over how many stops and washed how often. Quotes that come back with those five details describe the same product.
