A thermobox is an insulated container built to carry temperature-sensitive goods without breaking the cold chain. It has no compressor and no power connection: the cold comes from eutectic plates frozen in advance and placed inside, and the insulation keeps that cold in. The container itself is pre-cooled before the run; GEBHARDT recommends 12-20 hours of pre-cooling for the TBX.
| Form | Volume | Payload | Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| EPP Thermobox | 46 l | hand-carried | last mile, small orders |
| TBX on castors | 410, 600, 725, 795 l | 500 kg | manual manoeuvring in narrow streets and inside shops |
| TBX on pallet base | 900, 1000, 1070, 1170, 1500 l | 700 kg | forklift and pallet truck access from four sides |
The EPP box measures 600 x 400 x 320 mm outside; the largest body, the TBX 1500, measures 1023 x 1224 x 2003 mm. Every TBX size takes standard euro-norm crates such as E1, E2 and E3. For fish and seafood, the Seafood model based on the TBX 1000 has an inner tray that collects up to 24 litres of liquid and a drain for meltwater.
Which size fits?
Process comes before litres: what temperature the goods travel at, how much goes per trip, and whether loading is by hand or by forklift. Door width and vehicle floor are measured together with the crate layout. If you need exact project dimensions, ask Aris Makina for the current drawing; we obtain it from GEBHARDT and pass it on, and settle the configuration with you from the goods, volume and route.
