FCA and DAP on a quotation are rules from the International Chamber of Commerce's Incoterms 2020, and they fix the point at which the goods count as delivered; risk passes to the buyer at exactly that point. Under FCA the seller hands the goods to the carrier nominated by the buyer, while under DAP the seller places them at the buyer's disposal at the destination.

For a business that imports regularly with its own carrier, FCA keeps the freight negotiation and control in its hands; for a one-off equipment purchase, DAP means one price and one counterpart. Neither rule obliges the seller to insure the goods; that duty exists only under CIP and CIF.
