Time in traffic changes the route plan; its effect on product depends on load, packaging, cold source and ambient conditions. Do not declare a delay safe by guesswork.
Create an event record
Log vehicle and container IDs, stop location, delay start and end, door openings and actions taken.
Monitor the product
If product instructions require it, measure with the approved device and location. Link sensor, product, container and route details in one record.
Verify the cold source. Compare plate type, article and preparation record with maker instructions. Do not use a nominal duration as an actual route allowance.
Set route slack from actual data
Compare delays and handover measurements across trips with similar loads and delivery arrangements. Separate changed conditions and give the route owner an updated deviation plan.
