Attributing a change in fuel use to the refrigeration unit alone can mislead. Keep vehicle, route, load, stops and idle data in the same comparison.
For each trip, record vehicle ID, date, route, distance, fuel receipt or fleet reading, load, stop count, idle time and refrigeration runtime. Also log trip counts used by active and passive setups.
Compare periods with similar routes and loads. If work volume differs, calculate fuel per delivery or unit moved, and show total consumption separately.
Note differences in traffic, weather, driver, maintenance, empty return and waiting. Do not attribute a large difference to equipment alone; if conditions cannot be matched, label the result a limited comparison.
Keep raw records and calculations from repeated periods. Report any saving claim with its measurement method and comparison basis; do not assume an equipment or fuel effect in advance.
