Day-one content should match the new employee's role. Instead of covering every procedure at once, select steps needed for the task and check them in practice.
Choose role-specific essentials
Depending on the job, these may include personal hygiene, product and container separation, equipment cleaning, safe handling, dispatch records or deviation reporting. Confirm with a supervisor or authorized trainer which topics must be completed before the employee starts each task.
The trainer demonstrates; the new employee explains the steps back and repeats them with suitable equipment. Record correctly completed steps, questions and support needs on an observation form. State clearly which decisions are outside the employee's authority.
Schedule follow-up during the first week
Record completed training, trainer, date and employee acknowledgement. Arrange supervised practice for tasks not yet performed; re-observe unclear steps during the first week. Follow refresher conditions in the site's training matrix and food-safety procedure.
