One repair invoice cannot measure the cost effect of a delayed service. Bring six months of vehicle-level records together to separate observed changes from possible causes.

Match records for the same vehicle

Collect service and parts invoices, repair orders, refrigeration unit hours, fuel receipts and delayed or cancelled trips. Add date, odometer, unit hours, route and load type to each record. Use the manufacturer’s service interval and completed-work report as references.

Make the comparison fair

Compare periods before and after service on similar routes, loads, seasons and duty. Track ratios such as fuel per route and unit hours per trip; align conditions when comparing vehicles. An observed difference does not prove maintenance was its sole cause.

List overdue tasks, record gaps and the next planned service. Follow the unit maker’s manual and authorised service advice for timing.
