Groupage can suit a small shipment; intermediate depots, transfers and service scope vary by carrier and route. Confirm the service in writing.
Request a transfer map. Ask about consolidation, sorting, reloading and arrival steps. Identify who monitors the waiting area and product conditions at each point.
Maintain batch traceability
Record label, quantity, seal condition, sender/receiver and times at every handoff. Link logger data to the correct batch and consignment.
Agree receipt and equipment terms
Clarify arrival inspection, deviation reporting and delivery records with the buyer. For reusable carriers, document return freight, responsible party and return tracking.
Reassess if service is unavailable
If the carrier cannot provide waiting conditions or measurement evidence, consult the product procedure and risk owner. Do not rely on the product carrying its own cold without a validated trial.
