Compare electric and diesel refrigeration units by actual use and cost on the same duty, not catalogue claims. If vehicle, unit or cooling load differs, do not compare results directly.
Describe route and duty profile. Group trips by route, load, stops, unit runtime, parking location and day/night use. For an electric option, record where it charges and whether it shares the vehicle battery. Separate refrigeration-unit fuel from vehicle fuel where it can be measured.
Add six months of actual costs
Compare billed fuel and electricity, service and repair work orders, charging infrastructure costs and downtime. Normalize equivalent service by delivery or unit hour. Do not add different energy units without a documented conversion source.
Before deciding, check operating, charging and maintenance conditions in the selected vehicle and unit manuals. If records are missing, collect them in a limited pilot first.
