Buying a used ISOTEC: inspect the body and test the route

Verify model and serial, inspect the closure surfaces, then test with a representative load on route. Record defects before judging cosmetic marks.

Short answer

Match the model and serial plate to the documents; inspect the body, joints, lid, seal and moving parts. Compare empty weight only with a same-model reference. Before purchase, test a representative load on route against acceptance criteria set in advance.

A container that looks sound in a photo does not prove its insulation is sound. Separate the inspection into identity, physical condition and a loaded performance trial.

Identity and physical inspection. Match the model and serial plate to the seller's documents. Inspect and photograph cracks, separated joints, water marks, lid fit, seal, locks and wheels. Weight is only a clue when compared with a reliable reference for the same model; it does not diagnose damage by itself.

The Isotec is a repairable container. A missing or worn part is brought in later through the GEBHARDT distributor for Türkiye.

Test with a load

Run a trial representing the intended load and cold-source arrangement. Set logger position and acceptance limits in advance. If it fails, put any repair or conditional acceptance in writing.
