Lead time is not one fixed date; product status and order scope can change. Record the supplier's stock answer with its configuration and confirmation time.
Separate stock statuses. State the full model code and accessories, then ask separately about local stock, factory stock, reserved quantity and production status. Request available quantity, location and the date the information was checked in writing.
Track the next stage
If unavailable, ask about production queue, completion confirmation, dispatch stage and who will provide the next update. Clarify before ordering whether partial shipment or an approved alternative configuration is acceptable.
Reconfirm stock at quotation, order confirmation and before dispatch. Keep the dated reply in the email or purchasing record so the basis for the plan remains visible.
