Do not assume a new product fits the existing route and store setup. Treat the first shipment as an operational trial: it shows whether product requirements, case dimensions, receipt and records work together.
Complete the product card before dispatch
State storage instructions, case dimensions, stacking and segregation conditions, lot details and the person receiving the load. Confirm the case fits the store’s shelf and chilled space before shipping. Agree route sequence and delivery window with the recipient.
Record measurement and receipt for the first batch
Match case or pallet ID with dispatch and arrival times, the appropriate measurement point, packaging condition and any delay report. Record the receiver’s sign-off and time placed on shelf. If readings or packaging raise an issue, hold the batch and follow the product specification’s decision process.
Plan batch two from the findings
Review arrival records alongside the product’s condition in store, sales and recipient feedback. Identify fixable causes such as delay, case mismatch or missing product information, then adjust route, frequency, packaging or store count. One first shipment does not guarantee performance across the network.
