Separate engine, refrigeration-unit and handling noise. Measure changes at the same delivery location to see what helps.
Fleet and refrigeration units
Do not add a fixed percentage to winter quantities. Measure dry-ice mass, vehicle environment and product temperature on comparable loads and routes.
Dry ice
In transit, meat must stay at or below 3 °C for offal and 7 °C for other meat; mince is limited to 2 °C and meat preparations to 4 °C. The temperature is reached before loading and held all the way.
Regulations and standards
By air, dry ice is dangerous goods under UN 1845. Carriers that accept it require a declaration, a Class 9 label, the net quantity and packaging that lets the gas escape.
Dry ice
On a short route a tube moves a specimen in seconds. Without a sponge insert hemolysis rises sharply, so each route and carrier needs its own approval.
Pharmaceutical cold chain
At every handoff, record dispatch, wait and receipt times, responsible staff and product conditions.
Pharmaceutical cold chain
Under time pressure, rely on product instructions, ready equipment and an assigned decision owner.
Pharmaceutical cold chain
Power access, costs and product disposition may be unclear during a hold. Keep a timeline and confirm roles in writing.
Transport and routing
Assess stop order with records, not assumptions. Track each stop, lid opening, wait, handover and temperature reading on one timeline.
Pharmaceutical cold chain
Validate the last mile against product instructions, carrier and handover records. Measure route time, weather, stops and openings.
Pharmaceutical cold chain
Personal medicine goes in the cabin with a prescription and its original pack, held at +2 to +8 °C door to door. A commercial consignment follows a separate route with a qualified container and airline cargo acceptance.
Regulations and standards
Match warehouse release and vehicle loading in one lot record, and measure dock waiting separately.
Warehouse and dispatch
Validate the full shipment, including door-to-door waits, not just flight time. Check product, packout, carrier and dangerous-goods acceptance together.
Pharmaceutical cold chain
Do not assume a fixed hold time. Define customs process, documents, monitoring and quality decisions in the shipment plan.
Pharmaceutical cold chain
Measure actual elapsed time: use lane records to expose dwell at transfers, breaks and delivery.
Pharmaceutical cold chain
The clock starts when the parcel is sealed. Packaging validation, waiting time at transfer hubs and the delivery record are the sender's responsibility, whatever the carrier's speed.
